Alex, a British intelligence officer with a secret — he can transform into a cat — is sent to Argentina on what appears to be a routine investigative assignment. Posing as a journalist, he expects boredom, wine, and perhaps a quiet fling. Instead, he stumbles into a murder: a detective is found dead in his hotel, and the crime scene reeks of something far beyond human.
Alex soon discovers that the hotel room is being used as a safe house by fallen angels, former soldiers of the Archangel Michael, now freelancing as mercenaries.
